The percentage of seedlings partially buried by sediment was significantly higher (d.f. = 14; W = 13; p = 0.016) after flood compared to before flood. Seedling density was positively correlated with the amount of bare ground prior to the flood (r = 0.61; p = 0.02), but this relationship was no longer significant after flood (r = 0.18; p = 0.53). 37% of the seedlings surveyed showed evidence of grazing. Our results confirm that hydrogeomorphic processes associated with a bankfull flood affect the survival of Casuarina cunninghamiana seedlings. The management implications of our findings are discussed in terms of riparian revegetation techniques and the geomorphic recovery of over-widened sand-bed streams.]]> Wed 11 Apr 2018 17:17:23 AEST ]]> Longitudinal correlation of late Quaternary terrace sequences of Widden Brook, southeastern Australia https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:10497 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:08:59 AEDT ]]> Hydrologic dispersion in fluvial networks https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:6676 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:46:14 AEDT ]]> Connecting the disconnected: longitudinal correlation of river terrace remnants https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:6182 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:44:42 AEDT ]]> Impacts of vegetation on flow dynamics in a reduced scale model and implications for riparian rehabilitation https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:6225 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:44:24 AEDT ]]> Factors controlling the chemical evolution of travertine-depositing rivers of the Barkly karst, northern Australia https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:3184 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:18:08 AEDT ]]>
